Abdul Malik Abbott, Vice President of Production has directed several #1 music videos, including many of Jay Z’s early videos (which catapulted him to the top of the charts) as well as other notable recording artists. He directed the classic Jay-Z long-form video Streets is Watchingand directed the cult classic gangster rap film State Property (Lionsgate). Abdul also directed Let’s Dance, one of the longest running gospel videos on BET by Hezekiah Walker; the great Abbey Lincoln music video People in Me; Who Da’ Man web series and others.
Directed new and established artists, Jazz Legend Abbey Lincoln, Notorious B.I.G, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-1, Will Smith, Foxy Brown, Kenny Lattimore, Dave Hollister, Saigon, Trey Songz, country singer Bonnie Paul, Kevin L, The Pointer Sisters, int'l pop star Leki. Worked in the sound dept. on Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing" & "Mo' Better Blues", as well as "Def by Temptation", "New Jack City" and hundreds of other commercials, movies & TV projects.
Recently completed a slate of music videos as well as directing; "Artist Found in Port Washington Flat", a multimedia production for Oscar Nominated actor/writer Burt Young. Directed the first four episodes for a web series entitled "Who da Man?", and co-wrote & produced an independent feature film entitled "My Normal", (Wolfe Releasing). Writes & produces songs for his music group B.O.S.S.
Recently Wrote, Directed and Edited the critically acclaimed short film "Curse of War". Currently Member of the Directors Guild of America's African‐American Steering committee; member of SESAC, the WGA(w) and voting member of The Recording Academy (NARAS).
