1 Samuel 15:22 (Amplified)
Samuel said, "Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams." You can give sacrificially of your gifts, time, talent and money to the advancement of God's Kingdom. Yet, God will always desire your personal obedience more than what you can give to Him. John 14:15 (KJVS) Jesus states, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Obedience is a reflection of your reverence and love for God. If we understand that our obedience is very important to God; then I ask, what is God asking you to do? In this season where there is both heightened fear and anger all around, what actions does God want you to take as part of the solution but you are hesitating on it?
James 2:17-18 (Amplified) states, "So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead). But someone will say [to you then], You [say you] have faith, and I have [good] works. Now you show me your [alleged] faith apart from any [good] works [if you can], and I by [good] works [of obedience] will show you my faith."
The works that faith produces by your obedience to carry them out is the full expression of your faith. God does not just require us to believe. God also requires us to be doers of the Word. We are in a season of doing! We must walk out God's Word in our day to day living and stop leaving righteousness and justice for someone else to take care of. It is our believing God's Word that must become the lens through which we see and do everything! We need prayer and proactive movement!
Don't look to anyone else. Start with you!
