Singer/songwriter Sherlee Skai is a unique voice, a unique sound. She discovered her talent in the church where many a singer has found the strength and soul we hear in their work. She spent her teenage years listening to and learning Haitian traditional music like Beethova Obas and Yole Derose, as well as following the music of American artists from Tracy Chapman to Lauryn Hill. These varied influences have resulted in a unique blend of numerous genres. The easiest way to describe her style would be a jazzy, folkloric, soulful sound, in other words… true “world music.”
Skai is working on her latest album and recently released her first music video entitled “Ou Manke’m.” She is now in New York and dedicated more than ever to conquer the music scene.
